Have you ever received one of these calls? “Your business is not verified on Google” or “Your business listing is not showing up on Google”.
Have you ever gotten a call and wondered “Is this really Google calling”? The answer is NO.
Google answers this directly on their website:
Although helping companies fill out and verify their information is legal(this is a service we, WebLeaps offer), the way that these companies go about it is what makes it unethical and illegal.
They often make false claims such as:
“Your listing is scheduled for deletion”
“Your listing is not listed in Google”
They also often claim to be “working on behalf of Google” which is also false – they have NO affiliation with Google and Google has actually sought legal action against them.
So what can you do?
1) NEVER give out any information to them including passwords.
2) Ask them to be taken off their calling list.
3) File a complaint with Google: https://support.google.com/business/contact/gmb_3p_complaints
If you do need your Google listing information updated, for example when you see your business listing on Google your phone number or address is wrong, or hours/information is incorrect or missing give a reputable company, like WebLeaps, a call. For a small one-time charge we can update this information for you so that your business information shows up correctly. Your listing will be updated correctly, and with the peace of mind that it’s being done correctly with a company that you can trust.
