Universal Analytics(UA) to Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

Friday, June 2nd, 2023

For as long as we can remember Google has offered Universal Analytics, simply known as Google Analytics.  This allows you to place tracking code on your website and then be able to monitor that data to see what pages your users visit most, what search terms they used to find you, how often people stay on a certain page, the flow of their visit, etc.

On July 1st, 2023 Google is making a huge leap from UA to GA4.  Google will be replacing its previous generation of analytics. They will be discontinuing Universal Analytics in support of Google Analytics 4 on July 1, 2023. This transfer to Google Analytics 4 is not optional and in order to keep tracking data, you will need to migrate over to the new version. Google will be discontinuing Universal Analytics meaning that any previous data that was stored will no longer be available meaning any data that was saved in UA will be permanently deleted. There is no way to migrate that data, you can migrate the account, but the data from UA can not be moved over to GA4 as it’s a completely different system. We advise everyone to export your historical reports, and we advise you to do so as soon as possible.

If you have any specific property settings, Google Ads, or other settings that you would like to change, please login and make those changes.
