Over the years we have seen a lot. We know that with so many options out there, it can be confusing as to where to even start with your website.
The company that you work with for your website needs matters. You most likely visit the same doctor, dentist, hairstylist or mechanic because they know you and you can trust them. You know that you’ll get the same haircut every time, and that you can trust your mechanic to not overcharge you even when your car looks great on the outside, but is having all sorts of issues under the hood. The company that designs your website isn’t any different.
Some people just want “something up online” and decide to go with a “big box company template system” or “build your own site”. If your website is just a placeholder and you never intend to advertise, show up on Google, or get your name out there, then it doesn’t really make a difference. But if expanding your client base and being found on the internet matters to you, you just may want to pump the brakes and rethink what you are doing.
We have worked with many websites that were in those same exact shoes, got the cheapest site they could find, and then figured they’d pay for some sparkly SEO package that promised great results. Only later did they find out that they unknowingly paid for “blackhat SEO”(which is NOT good) or an “SEO plugin” that was installed, but never filled out. In both cases, doing NOTHING would have better than “something” as what was done negatively impacted search engine rankings, which makes it difficult, if even possible, to overcome.
So ask yourself these questions. Can I call my website company and they know who I am, or do I need to wait in queue to speak to someone who has never seen my website? Does my website design company to know me and my business? Are they available to continue to work with me, or are they happy that they got paid and have no interest in continuing a relationship?
Your website it too large of a part of your business to roll the dice or go into creating it blindfolded. We’re here to help from start to finish, and beyond.
