The Gem Theme Portfolio Items in sitemap.xml

When using The Gem theme for a client website there were instances of the link being the website /pf which you do not want indexed in search engines but appears in the sitemap.xml file with a link to thegem_pf_item-sitemap.xml
When using The Gem in combination with Yoast, go to your WordPress admin > Yoast SEO > Settings > TheGem Portfolio Items and turn “OFF” “Show thegem portfolio items in search results”
Disabling this means that thegem portfolio items will not be indexed by search engines and will be excluded from XML sitemaps.
